Whoa, I had a crazy weekend!
Ready?? Here we go...
Shot Star! Daily Friday, went to NYC.
Interviewed the cast of "American Dreamz" (watch it, its funny!) on Saturday and then flew out L.A. to interview the cast of "Take the Lead."
Here's where things get interesting....
The interview with Antonio Banderas was barely audible. I swear he could have told me who shot JFK and I would have had no idea what he was talking about...
My inner monologue: "Just nod and smile Husein. This dude whispers!"
Then I interviewed Yaya DeCosta.
Don't know who she is?? Let me give you the back story.
Two years ago, she made it to the finals on America's Next Top Model (ANTM) and lost. All of this info by the way is included in the notes given to all reporters who interview the cast.
So the obvious question: How has ANTM helped your career. Yaya's answer? (I'm paraphrasing) It didn't.
Okay... Uh... Fair enough, it didn't. No big deal. Moving on.
We chat about the experience of doing her first feature film, we talk about dancing, and then I thought I'd try some more modeling questions, more specifically how our network is launching "Canada's Next Top Model".
All I did was ask for some advice for the young hopefuls.
Yaya's answer? (More paraphrasing) 'You know, it was so long ago, I really don't remember that show, I'm really focusing on my acting career... I guess good luck?'
Wait a second lady, you're telling me you don't remember being the finalist on America's Next Top Model?
You're telling me you have nothing to say? Like...
'be confident',
'walk one step at a time',
'smile' ...
Anything????
Give me a break!!!
Its one thing to seperate yourself from modelling, but its another to practically deny that you were a part of a show that was watched by millions of people!
With all the travelling from coast to coast, talking to A-list celebs, staying in 5 star hotels, the one thing that remains with me is YaYa's No No's!
Oh, that and Antonio's constant need to tell a secret.
