Good Times in the Maritimes!

Juno how much fun I had this past weekend in Halifax?! I arrived Saturday afternoon and while out for lunch in downtown Halifax, I saw the guys from Alexis on Fire just walking around taking it all in. And when I was coming out of the hotel – I met up with Eon from Bedouin Soundclash! Artists were spotted walking around all weekend, unfazed and just enjoying themselves. The relaxed atmosphere really gave fans a great opportunity to meet artists that normally might not get the chance to visit Halifax.
One of the biggest highlights for me was seeing Coldplay walk down the red carpet. Even thought they didn’t stop and chat, it was still pretty special. At one of the parties I ran into Julian and Bubbles from the Trailer Park Boys (who were hilarious!) and saw Justin Trudeau and his wife dancing the night away. The atmosphere was so laid-back and relaxed that it was impossible not to have a good time. I think having the Juno’s in smaller cities like Halifax, Winnipeg or St. John’s really lends itself to showcasing what the industry in Canada is all about.....great people and great music! Can’t wait till next year!
