Well there's more news on the Cruise front.
Now I know what you're thinking... 'great, another slam on Tom by yet another entertainment host'.
Well slow down!
I'm not gonna take this opportunity to tell you about Tommy boys couch jumping, fist pounding, big smiling interview on Oprah.
Nor am I going to go into his request to keep the mother of his child away from pain killers during child birth.
Nor am I going to tell you about how much TC runs in his films.
This little write up is about his daughters name "Suri". The name, according to the Cruise camp mean "princess" in Hebrew. Yet in Israel, they're a little baffled because they've never heard of it before.
In fact, one news anchor said "We seem to have learned a new Hebrew word — and from Tom Cruise, no less,".
So here's the background on the name "Suri" -- Its a pet name for "Sarah" used mainly by The Ashkenazi (Jews) of Poland and Hungary. Now in ancient Hebrew, the name Sarah, when shortened to "Sar" means lord when used in its feminine form. Which now means cabinet minister in modern Hebrew.
Around the world, the name "Suri" has different meanings. In Japan the word "suri" means pick-pocket and in Southern India, the word "suri" means pointy-nose! And in Canada we have city in British Columbia called "Surrey".
Oh I could go on...
But it wouldn't be fair, especially since this is being written by a guy named "Husein".
