Take me to the North Pole!

In Minnesota right now, just interviewed the cast of “A Prairie Home Companion” – A Robert Altman film starring Meryl Streep, Lily Tomlin, Kevin Klein, John C. Reilly, Lindsay Lohan -- The list goes on and on. So normally, these types of interviews are done in L.A. or New York at really fancy-shmansy hotels. This one? St. Paul, Minnesota. Now, when I think Minnesota, I think "The Twins", "Prince" and "Fargo". But the movie studio had good reason to conduct all of the press interviews in St. Paul -- The entire film takes place in and around The Fitzgerald Theatre in the Twin City. Makes sense to me. I’m thinking, okay we’re here, miles away from home, in Minnesota, we’re probably gonna do the interviews at the theatre or somewhere very Minnesota-esque like 'Paisley Park' or something. But nooooo, we’re doing interviews at a hotel!! And the backdrop? A movie poster!! Come on man, why travel all the way to the middle of America and do an interview in a hotel! We could have done the interview in a hotel in Antarctica for all I care… And it would have looked the same. Imagine this for a sec. -- The cast of "March of the Penguins" doing interviews in the North Pole at a Holiday Inn. Sure the cast is comprised of penguins and Morgan Freemans voice and there’s probably not a Holiday Inn that far up North, but you get my point (I hope you get my point). Basically, why do an interview in a unique location if the place you’re doing the interview is generic. I don’t get it. Show biz I tells ya… Always something to rant about!
