Charity Chants...
and other ways of being "in" with charitable celebs.

Its nice to see celebrities giving back.
When you have an abundance of cash... Why not help out those less fortunate?
When it comes to celebrities there's a hierarchy among those who donate to charity.
At the top, I would say is Angelina Jolie.
I mean you really can't outdo someone who is associated with the United Nations.
Then I would say would be the people who donate millions to worthy causes.
Take Jackie Chan -- It is written in his will that half his fortune will go to charity, the other half to his family.
After that I would say the Nick Cage who donated a two million dollars to Amnesty International to help start up a fund for "kid soldiers".
But below Nick... It gets hazy.
I mean you could toss in all the celebs who take part in "Celebrity Poker Showdown" or any other game show where celebs take part and donate their winnings.
My favourite though has got to be the guys from Los Lonely Boys.
These Texan Grammy award winning brothers, bought a body shop in their hometown and are employing people who wouldn't necessarily have a jobs. And its a place where they can "soup up" their wheels. I think its different than simply donating money.
Don't get me wrong, the mighty dollar goes far in the world of charity... But its nice to see a group of guys who make music and run a body shop to help out their community.
Oh.. I did forget one group in my list..
The celebs who get together and sing "charity songs"... a la WE ARE THE WORLD!
Don't knock the track, I can still perform all the parts. I do a great Willie Nelson.
In fact, I will go so far and say the world would be a better place with... more charity songs!
