Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are two of the most talked about celebrities on the planet. Everything they do is subject to intense media scrutiny. Whether they’re adopting another child, making movies or buying lunch for their family, we know pretty much every move that these two make. With the celebrity baby boom at an all time high, it’s not at all surprising to see some celebs jumping on the bandwagon. A publicity stunt is a publicity stunt, and Jennifer Aniston is the latest name who may be picking herself up a little bundle of joy.
Ok! Magazine is reporting that Jennifer Aniston, who has denied reports that she didn’t want to have kids with ex-husband turned family man Brad Pitt, is getting ready to adopt. According to the report the adoption is one hundred percent going ahead. Jennifer will have no contact with the mother of her future child due to the adoption being ‘closed’. As Jennifer begins the journey towards mother hood, I can’t help wondering if there’s more to this adoption than meets the eye.
Ever since I joined Star! Daily, it seems like you can’t cough without a celebrity announcing a new addition. Not a day goes by without a rumour, an announcement, a birth or a paternity test, so I’ve started to become skeptical. With Jennifer’s lack of success in the acting department lately, I can only assume that she may be trying to boost her career. Jen has a new relationship which has gossip rags in a tizzy, but… everyone loves a newborn baby.
I’m not saying that Jennifer is a horrible person and that she’s using a new born baby in order to grab a few headlines. What I’m saying is that Hollywood is all about keeping your name in the papers. If Jennifer decided that becoming a mother was her next role in life, I say good for her. Should Jennifer get some positive press out of the ordeal and find herself talked about more, that’s just an added bonus of sorts… right?
Why are we so obsessed with the intimate details of our favourite celebrities' lives? Do I care how many children someone has, or what their child even looks like? Probably not, but many people seem to want visual confirmation on some of the most ridiculous things. I, for one, think Jennifer should wait. As a celebrity, she’s already hounded by the paparazzi. Should she subject a child to the same behaviour? On the other hand, is it fair to say Jennifer shouldn’t be a mother because of her celebrity status?
I’ll never understand the desire to pry into Jennifer’s private life. Obviously Jennifer didn’t announce that she was going to adopt a child because she wanted it to be a private matter. Had Jennifer decided to make this a publicity issue, Ok! Magazine wouldn’t be reporting information that didn’t come straight from Jennifer’s mouth. I’ve always been a fan of Aniston as a person. She seems smart, level-headed, and respectable… probably the type of person who should be adopting and taking care of a new life. The only question I really have is… why?
It’s probably none of my business why she's may be adopting a child. She’s a single woman with alot of money, but does that mean it’s a good idea? Being a single parent can be difficult no matter who you are. You’re torn between making money and doing what you love, and raising the child you love. Sometimes it’s a delicate balance, and maybe it’s easy for some… but it’s certainly not something I’d be willing to do no matter how much money I had.
I wish Jennifer Aniston all the best. She’s had a rough go in front of the media with her personal and professional life, so I would love to see her succeed. It’s time for a beautiful, smart, sophisticated woman to come out on top. Maybe she’ll be a great mother, and maybe she just wants a headline… lord knows she won’t need to work anytime soon with all that money from Friends.
