Vive La France!

They say that everything goes in circles. Fashion goes in waves, what was new becomes old, and what was old becomes new. History repeats itself if we aren’t willing to learn from the mistakes of the past. Like all good things come to an end, Paris Hilton has left prison after twenty three days behind bars. Even while she was locked away, her name was strewn across the headlines, and now that she’s out, she’ll probably find herself hounded even more by the paparazzi.

Just after midnight this morning Paris Hilton was released to a sea of approximately two hundred paparazzi and the waiting arms of her mother. She’s been held in a mental institution, written letters to fans, and shed more tears than a toddler who wasn’t given an extra slice of cake for dessert. More people are now concerned with Paris alleged maturing in prison and her promises to turn over a new leaf. Larry King is going to sit down with Paris tomorrow, and he’s going to ask the question on everyone’s mind… are you sincere in your desire to change?

Honestly, Paris has been behaving like a spoiled brat. She cries to get her way, complains about getting thrown in jail, and almost seeming to demand she get special attention and treatment because her name is Hilton. With all the times she’s said she’s changed and is ready to mature, I’m not quite ready to believe it. The way you’ve acted in prison talking about how it depresses you, and makes you cry and miss home… I couldn’t help but ask myself… isn’t that the point? Shouldn’t you just accept the punishment put on you and take it like a big girl, wouldn’t that really show some growth in your personality as opposed to calling every media outlet on the planet to inform them of your life changing experiences?

Paris Hilton is media hungry. As proven by her constant partying antics, tabloid fodder, and willingness to attach her name to anything, Paris Hilton loves being Paris Hilton. If you’re really willing to let yourself grow, mature, change, you should probably just do it and allow us to arrive at our own conclusions as opposed to making a huge deal out of it to people like Ryan Seacrest and Barbara Walters. Paris is a master at publicity. Even while behind bars she was able to turn her incarceration into one of the biggest media spectacles since Britney Spears flashed her crotch to the entire world. You have to hand it to the girl she really knows how to talk about herself.

Frankly, I do enjoy the many antics of Paris Hilton. She’s releasing sex tapes, fighting with Lindsay Lohan, or dating Stavros for the fourteenth time. You really can’t hate Paris too much, for a spoiled little rich girl she really has managed to create a media empire for herself. Maybe she isn’t curing cancer, and maybe she’s not bettering our society, but the one thing you can count on Paris Hilton for, is a scandal, and a bad singing voice. I look forward to Paris and Larry King’s sit down tomorrow unfortunately I’m not ready to believe a word that comes out of her mouth.

Lesson learned kids, jail isn’t fun, you aren’t above the law and the most important lesson we’ve learned from all of this… you really look better with less make up. Paris may not be an amazing role model, but hopefully she will have learned something from this, even if that lesson is pay for a cab. I’m pretty sure we can all take something away from Paris’ pain and misery, and even if we can’t, at least she gave TMZ.com something to report about for a few weeks.  I can’t help but wonder if Larry King will ask her if she dropped the soap…?
