Mini-series for Mini Me

Verne Troyer Wednesday, August 20, 2008

A little dose of reality: Verne Troyer, best known as Austin Powers character Mini Me, is set to star in his own TV show.

The actor, 39, is hoping networks will bite for the reality small-screen series already in production.

"It's about being a dwarf in Hollywood," Troyer told Us Weekly magazine.

He certainly knows what it's like. At 25 he entered the movie business a keen stunt man. He has appeared in such movies as; Pinocchio's Revenge, Men in Black, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone and The Love Guru. Although he does not have many accolades for his performances, he is part of a small (no pun intended) group of actors disabled by Dwarfism. (He stands at 2 ft. 8 in. tall.)

On the positive hand? He's landed jobs in big box movies. On the negative hand? The paparazzi seem to catch him in the limelight.

This past Easter a sex tape featuring Troyer and his former girlfriend Ranae Shrider, was stolen from his home.  A legal dispute followed ending in the Michigan native's favour, but it uncovered memories...

Back in 2007 the mini-man ventured into reality TV's The Surreal Life, but that bombed when he got too drunk and urinated on the floor.

So... can he redeem his creditability?
