Ricky Martin welcomes twin boys
Wednesday, August 20, 2008Ricky Martin is a dad! "In recent weeks, Ricky Martin became a proud father by the birth of twin sons," the singer's representative confirmed to People.com on Wednesday. The children, born via gestational surrogacy, mark the beginning of a new chapter in the "Livin' La Vida Loca" star's life - parenthood. "Ricky is elated to begin... his life as a parent and will be spending the remainder of the year out of the public spotlight in order to spend time with his children," his publicist said in a statement. Martin, 36, is diving into fatherhood without a partner. The Puerto Rican artist is famous for bachelorhood, so famous he's had to strike down gay speculation for years. He has been linked to Mexican TV host Rebeca de Alba - reportedly having an on-again, off-again relationship with her for more than a decade - but she's the only lady he's known to have loved.
