Tuesday, April 22, 2008Actress Sandra Bullock, 43, and her West Coast Chopper husband, Jesse James, 39, avoided fatal injury after a drunk driver smashed into their SUV Friday night in Gloucester, Massachusetts. The love birds were being driven from the set of Bullock's new movie, The Proposal, when a Subaru struck their vehicle head-on. The driver, reportedly, switched lanes and smashed into the front of the actress's car. The Premonition star and her hubby were rattled, but escaped unharmed. Police responding to the scene reported that the driver of the Subaru, Lucille P. Gatchell, had two and a half times the legal limit of alcohol. She was arrested and charged with D.U.I. and failure to stay in marked lanes. Bullock's new romantic comedy, The Proposal, also stars Ryan Reynolds and is due in theatres fall 2009.
