The groom's relative, Linda Cannon, confirmed to E! that the couple had a small wedding ceremony at Mimi's private estate in the Caribbean Islands last week. 'He [Nick] called and told us all about it,' she said. '... we are happy for him.' Only a few short months after the couple began dating, the 39-year-old singer was spotted wearing a $2.5 million, 17-carat diamond engagement ring. Rumours began circulating about their proposed nuptials, but weren't official until today. This is the second marriage for New York born performer, MC, who was previously married to top music executive Tommy Mottola in 1993. But their extravagant wedding was followed by a devastating divorce in 1998. The 27-year-old Drumline star almost tied the knot last year to Victoria's Secret model Selita Ebanks. But a few months after his flashy proposal at Times Square, the couple split. That makes him a first-time husband. On April 14 Carey released her 11 studio album, E=MC². It includes hits 'Touch My body', 'Cruise Control' and 'Bye, Bye' - the track that features Cannon. |
