Thursday, June 26, 2008Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, Hollywood's most powerful couple, are sharing their wealth once again, according to Usmagazine.com. Their charity, the Jolie-Pitt Foundation, donated $1 million to children affected by the Iraq war, including refugee kids and American kids whose parent died or is serving for their country. Half of the cash will provide Iraqi children with school supplies and start education programs. The other half will be used for a tutoring initiative at the Armed Services YMCA Operation Hero Program. Jolie and Pitt's decision to help out this cause stems from the actress's trip to Iraq in February. "My visit [to Iraq] left me even more deeply convinced that we not only have a moral obligation to help displaced Iraqi families, but also a serious, long-term, national security interest in ending this crisis," she wrote in The Washington Post. Jolie, 33, and Pitt, 44, started dating in 2005 after Pitt's marriage to Jennifer Aniston ended. They have four children together, including Maddox, Zahara, Shiloh and Pax and are expecting twins this July. Summary by: Jocelyn Nespiak for Star!
